Tara has 21 primary emanations that perform different activities and portrays herself in different colours which correspond to the 21 aspects of the Goddess Tara. Tara is the female Bodhisattva of enlightened activity of which there are 4 types: Pacifying, Increasing, Overpowering and Wrathful. Each of these is represented by a different colour: 

 

* White represents the enlightened activity of pacifying. For example, overcoming sickness and removing obstacles to success in one's life. 

 

* Yellow represents the enlightened activity of increasing the positive qualities that are conducive to a long and happy life which includes peace, happiness and success in one's Dharma practice. 

 

* Red represents the enlightened activity of power or overcoming external forces that cannot be tamed through the first 2 activities, for example, the removal of obstacles, healing from sickness etc.

 

* Black represents the enlightened activity of wrath, which involves using forceful methods for accomplishing activities for enlightened purposes that cannot be accomplished through other means.

 

Through this attunement, you will receive 21 attunements to the 21 aspects of the Goddess Tara. Ideally, these should be received separately so the energies can be assimilated into your consciousness but they can be taken at one time if you are guided. These aspects will bring forth the attributes, energies and blessings from Tara which can then be applied to your daily life and spiritual practices.
